Developing a fast, reproducible, and simple protocol for virtual lichen herbarium using barcoding and QR code techniques

In recent days, biological specimens are digitalized and digital images available in virtual herbarium for teaching learning process. Now, there is a need to explore possibilities of usage barcodes quick response (QR) codes developing access as well study the taxonomy repository specimens. order establish lichens using barcode QR code techniques, lichen such Chrysothrix candelaris (L.) J.R.Laundon, Leucodermia leucomelos Kalb, Heterodernia flabellate (fee) D.D.Awasthi, Parmotrema andinum (Mull.Arg.) Hale, grayanum (Hue) Parmellinella stuppeum (Taylor) Ramalina intermedia (Delise ex Nyl.) Nyl. were collected from Eastern Ghats Western Tamil Nadu, India identified based on morphological, anatomical biochemical methods. Moreover, these preserved conventional reference materials future studies. The generated all get complete description provided binomial name along with their accession number. Similarly, image descriptions distribution, habit habitat, growth forms, family, reproductive structure, chemistry, nature thallus structure secondary metabolites.
